Our January 26, 2017 General Meeting was held at the Garfield Heights, Branch of the Cuyahoga Library. Bill Cohen-Kiraly began with a quick overview of some new features on our website. The main attraction was Garfield Heights Branch Manager Lane Edwards II showing us the digital resources the library has to offer, with a focus on graphic design. Lane showed users of Mac, PC, and mobile devices how to get the fullest use of their library’s resources.
Lane directed us to start with the Digital Collection Link for choosing eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, and Music. For other resources like Lynda.com and dozens of resources from 60 Minutes, Word.cat, and resource links under Research.
The evening was full of useful information and the meeting after the meeting feedback was all extremely positive. Even those power users in the audience felt like they learned more than they expected.
Spike’s favorite tip was under the Edit Account Link of your profile, you can assign a user name that is easier to remember than a library card number. We also learned that Ohio residents can get library cards for any library in the state.
Our Cuyahoga County Library system is amazing with great services, and great staff. The Library at Alexandria has nothing on our county!
