6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
COSE Arts Network has partnered with the inimitable SPACES Gallery for a month long series of visual arts-based professional practices workshops and lectures. These workshops run every Thursday from September 8 through September 29 and are designed to address common problems that artists face when trying to gain an audience for their work.
On Thursday, September 15 the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts will partner with COSE and SPACES to present What Artists Need to Know about Intellectual Property in the New Media Age!
In the new media age, new technology and media are inspiring creative endeavors that constantly challenge old (and not-so-old) presumptions about artwork, artists, and art law. This talk will give an overview of fundamental legal issues, discuss the effect of new technologies on art, and consider whether there are any “new rules” for artists.
This workshop is $5 or FREE for SPACES and COSE members and lawyers. Register for the September 15 workshop, or any of the workshops in the September series, online to secure a spot at: http://www.SPACESgallery.org/shop/tickets.
