Have you ever taken a good long look at what’s under the hood of a Photoshop brush? Sadly, many of us take them for granted when painting with pixels.

Learn how to tweak and customize brushes from the many settings at your fingertips. Even create an original brush from the family dog or cat just for the fun of it.

Find out what’s up with those hard to control bristle brushes or take advantage of the amazing mixer brush tool.

It’s time to brush up on Photoshop brushes.

Speaker Bio: From the moment Gerry Shamray got his first box of Crayola Crayons as a child, he’s been creating bright, colorful images and imaginative stories. The crayons may have been replaced by a Wacom tablet and mixed media but Gerry’s inventive imagination continues to be fresh and youthful.

Gerry is best known for his sketchy life-like drawings of Harvey Pekar in the comic book “American Splendor” that was later turned into a hit movie starring Paul Giamatti. He’s also worked with legendary comic strip artist/writer Tom Batiuk (“Crankshaft,” “Funky Winkerbean”) on the nationally syndicated strip, “John Darling.”

While working in the newspaper business as an artist and writer, Gerry has garnered over two dozen national and statewide awards. He also earned a regional Emmy early in his career while at WVIZ-TV.

Besides his published work, Gerry’s artwork has been shown in art shows, galleries and museums including the Cartoon Art Museum and as far away as Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam.

His online portfolio is at and he’s on Instagram. He is always looking for new creative projects.

Gerry lives in Cleveland with his wife Tracy along with their cat, Pixel, and two dogs, Guinness and Copper. He loves to visit restaurants that leave crayons on their tables.

Speaker Bio: Lori Lipton, Health Plan Specialist.
My 20 plus year career in graphic design began in 1983. During that time approximately 50% of that time I was a self employed freelance designer/production artist. I know full well what it was like to pull together my own benefits. I had to shop for my own insurance and learned how it applied to my needs, sometimes the hard way. In 2001, after over 8 years with a great company with full benefits, I experienced a layoff as the company downsized and then closed a short while later. In 2002 I obtained my insurance license and my new career began. At this point, I have 16 years experience helping others find health plans that meet their needs. As an independent agent, I am self employed and still shop for my own health plan. Being an independent agent allows me to offer plans from various carriers and offer an objective overview of what is available. My approach is to educate and consult. The idea is to help clients choose what will best meet their needs and fit their budget.
