Gerry Shamray’s “Selfie” accepted in BAYarts Annual Juried Exhibition

CDPUG VP Gerry Shamray earned a spot in this year’s BAYarts Annual Juried Exhibition. The show opened on Friday, March 10 with a reception and will run through April 1.

Gerry’s piece, “Selfie,” is a black and white digital drawing that depicts the artist reflecting on his life via illustrated selfies of himself and his dog. “Selfie” was also shown last year at the 7th Annual May Show at Lakeland Juried Art Exhibition and originally debuted in the NOIS (Northern Ohio Illustrators Society) “Selfie” Show in 2015 where it was awarded first place.

Gerry Shamray is known for his sketchy, life-like illustrations for Harvey Pekar’s “American Splendor.” He has worked with cartoonist Tom Batiuk on the nationally syndicated comic strip “John Darling” and worked at Sun Newspapers as their graphics editor.
