When CDPUG program director Spike Radway (TeamSpike Consulting) suggested that I attend the “Successful Job Seekers Helping Each Other” Meetup on Monday, December 17, I was hesitant — it was a chilly Cleveland Monday morning after all. But when he offered breakfast on his dime, how could I resist? We were both glad that we made the trip downtown to the HotSpot Café and finally meet the host (and future CDPUG speaker?), Sue Nelson, of The Job Search Center in person.
Sue believes that it is the power of networking relationships that create opportunities. The free meetups are offered for professionals who are trying to figure out the next step in their job search or career transition. With over two decades and almost 4,000 clients in a variety of industries, Sue has the solid strategies and essential tools to help even the most discouraged job seeker accelerate their search and get positive results.
Sue created a compassionate and supportive atmosphere for the 15+ attendees, and then expertly steered the discussion by identifying the needs and interests of every group member. By letting each individual express those needs, she then offered helpful insights and tools that empowered them to see a clearer way forward to the job that they desire. Needless to say, we were immediately sold on her presentation and her complete comittment to inspiring and encouraging those in need of career guidance. Sue will present “Building Meaningful (and Profitable) Professional Relationships” at our January 2019 meeting, .
